A highly plastic stoneware developed for functional and domestic pottery.

Staffordshire Stoneware is a refined evolution of the original and widely respected Pyropot recipe. It is formulated from a balanced blend of ball clays, fireclays and red marls, producing a dependable and versatile throwing body.

The high ball clay content gives this clay exceptional plasticity, making it particularly well suited to throwing. Fireclay contributes refractory strength, while the red marls introduce a subtle iron fleck that adds character without dominating the surface.

Firing to a warm buff colour, this body is especially suitable for domestic ware and functional forms. Its strength and thermal stability make it a reliable choice for oven-to-table pieces.

Firing range: 1200 to 1300C (Cone 6 to 11)
Indicative texture: 1 on a scale of 1 (very smooth) to 10 (very coarse)
Indicative total contraction: 10 percent at 1100C / 12 percent at 1200C*
Standard bag size: 12.5 kg
