The Roderveld Raku 240 Litre Propane Gas Pyramid Kiln stands out for its simplicity, efficiency, and remarkable potential for creative experimentation. Designed for RAKU, biscuit, and full glaze firing, this kiln can be fired in either reduction or oxidation atmospheres and is ideal for both quick single-pot firings and full kiln loads.
The unique pyramid design directs heat downward before exiting through the flue, ensuring rapid temperature rise and exceptional energy efficiency. Its superior insulation allows you to achieve 5–7 RAKU firings up to 1050°C from a single 11 kg propane cylinder—making it one of the most economical gas kilns available.
Weighing only 75 kg at the top section, it’s easy to move thanks to two exterior handles. The kiln top can also be interchanged between a wood-firing base or a gas-firing hearth, offering true versatility. Its side-opening, sloping door design provides a secure seal while staying easy and safe to open—even mid-firing—perfect for observing glaze melt during RAKU firings.
