Potterycrafts Birch White Smooth Stoneware Clay – 10kg Bag
One of our best-selling clay bodies, Potterycrafts Birch White Smooth Stoneware Clay is known for its fine texture and excellent workability. This smooth, soft clay fires to an elegant off-white colour, making it ideal for throwing, hand-building, sculpting, and detailed modelling.
Its light tone enhances glaze results beautifully, while the naturally softer consistency makes it particularly comfortable for beginners or potters with joint concerns. To firm up the clay, simply dry it briefly on a plaster batt until it reaches your preferred hardness.

- Shrinkage (wet to dry): 3–5%
- Shrinkage (dry to fired): 6–8%
- Thermal expansion: 0.3% at 500°C
