Stroke & Coat® is a highly popular and extremely versatile glaze. It can be used on wet clay, earthenware bisque, or stoneware bisque. It can be fired from cone 06 to cone 10, in oxidation or reduction. Stroke & Coat is a great choice for almost all decorative applications.
Stroke & Coat® is a highly pigmented, thick glaze line that can be used for brush strokes or opaque coverage. Use these glazes to create intricate, detailed designs and butt up to one another without colors moving. When used in a majolica process, Stroke & Coat® will not move nor blend with the colors underneath. Stroke & Coat® colors are intermixable, allowing artists to create custom shades. Thin with water or media to create a “wash” or watercolor style of design. Because the liquid color is consistent with the fired color, artists will have no trouble visualizing finished results as they create.

- Optimal Firing Range: 1150-1280°C
- Suitable for cone 3 to 10.
- Texture: 4.5 out of ten - on a scale from smooth (1) to coarse (10)
- Shrinkage Characteristics: Exhibits 8% shrinkage at 1100°C and 11% at 1200°C.
This versatile clay body is very popular for both earthenware and stoneware applications.
Under normal or slightly reducing conditions, it develops an appealing speckled appearance. Durable and forgiving, it boasts excellent resistance to warping and cracking, making it perfect for both throwing and hand building. Exceptionally well-suited for educational purposes. Fires to a warm, toasted buff hue at stoneware temperatures.
