The small Falcon is a front loading kiln for potters setting up their first proper studio at home. It fires a solid batch of mugs, bowls or small sculptural work without needing a dedicated workshop, a garage, spare room or outbuilding is plenty. It is the compact end of the Kilns & Furnaces Falcon range, built to the same standard as the larger models but sized for the hobby and early-professional potter.

Front loading means you open it like an oven and load at a comfortable height, no awkward reaching down into a top-loading chamber. Within this size band there are single phase options that suit a typical home electrical supply, though as a hardwired kiln it still needs an electrician to connect. Tell us your space and supply and we'll point you to the right one.

The control of temperature in these kilns is extremely precise. The Falcon Range uses the TCS2 series program system, offering complete control over the firing cycle parameters.

  • Shrinkage Characteristics: Exhibits 8% shrinkage at 1100°C and 11% at 1200°C.

This versatile clay body is very popular for both earthenware and stoneware applications.

Under normal or slightly reducing conditions, it develops an appealing speckled appearance. Durable and forgiving, it boasts excellent resistance to warping and cracking, making it perfect for both throwing and hand building. Exceptionally well-suited for educational purposes. Fires to a warm, toasted buff hue at stoneware temperatures.
