A high quality, smooth clay body with low flux content that improves glaze pick up and allows use across a broad firing range. Keuper develops a rich, deep red tone at 1180C (Cone 5) and performs well for both handbuilding and throwing.
Firing range: 1080 to 1230C (Cone 03 to 6)

Important notes
• The clay has recently been reformulated. Previous Keuper users should run tests before switching.
• This body is supplied at a firm consistency. There is a simple technique for softening it, explained here
• Exercise caution when firing above Cone 6 or when reduction firing. The high oxide content can cause bloating at higher temperatures.
• The main product image shows Keuper fired to Cone 5. Additional colour responses for other cones are provided in the gallery.
