The Bailey Wheel is one of the most popular potter's wheels from Gladstone Engineering.
Many people are attracted to the Bailey Wheel due to its comfortable design, sturdy construction, and British look and feel. While there are many great foreign brands of pottery wheels, Gladstone are a wonderful British company with years of experience and reputation.
Its sturdy build, which consists of a blend of woods and metals really give it a quality feel.
What makes this wheel slightly different is that the wheel head is set at a greater height than most wheels, which a lot of people find this to be a more comfortable and natural position.
All Gladstone wheels can be fitted with various designs of wheel heads including studded and easy lift wheel heads that can accept ply bats.
The optional bench style seat, can be added for comfort whilst throwing, as well as an optional shelf to place your wares, water and tools. Ease of use makes this wheel and great choice for studios and schools alike.

- Shrinkage Characteristics: Exhibits 8% shrinkage at 1100°C and 11% at 1200°C.
This versatile clay body is very popular for both earthenware and stoneware applications.
Under normal or slightly reducing conditions, it develops an appealing speckled appearance. Durable and forgiving, it boasts excellent resistance to warping and cracking, making it perfect for both throwing and hand building. Exceptionally well-suited for educational purposes. Fires to a warm, toasted buff hue at stoneware temperatures.
